Kids are known for saying some of the darndest things we've ever heard someone say, and we can't blame them because they don't know any better.
It's their parent's job to raise them properly and explain certain things to them so they learn how to act and which things are okay to say and which things should be kept to themselves.
Little kids just don't know how to act in public and it takes time and patience for them to learn how to properly react to things they see, especially if it's something they haven't seen before.
Most of us have witnessed a child reacting heavily to things out of the ordinary to them, such as people in wheelchairs or pretty much anything that they don't see daily.
It's a parent's job to teach them about everything in this world and to let them know that certain reactions are considered rude and might hurt the other person's feelings. Compassion is something that we all need to have and unfortunately, it's not just kids that fail to show compassion for other people.
This Reddit user found themselves in a horrible situation recently, after she was confronted by a father who told her that she needs to cover up her significant face scarring because it was scaring his child.
She was offended by the father's request and she refused to cover up her face because her dermatologist told her that she shouldn't be doing that.
The father and child then decided to switch seats and this left OP feeling terrible all she could do is have a quiet cry because of the father's lack of compassion. She then turned to Reddit to ask the people if she did the right thing by not covering up and being confrontational about the whole thing.

OP sustained bad injuries to her face and the scarring was still healing, and apparently it looked totally badass.
u/fuckeduppfaceShe didn't want attention that people were bound to give her because of the injuries, but she had to catch a flight home.
u/fuckeduppfaceOP drifted off to sleep at first, but was woken up by a crying child, and a father that demanded she covered up her scarred face.
u/fuckeduppfaceInstead of teaching his child compassion, he decided to switch seats just to get away from OP.
u/fuckeduppfaceWe're glad that the comments on this thread were full of supportive people wishing the best for the young girl.
u/rckblykitn14Not the right lesson for this developing child.
u/positivechickpeaA missed opportunity for that kid to learn some compassion.
[deleted]Keep fighting the fight!
u/karmaismydawgzA missed opportunity.
u/cyfermaxThe fact that the girl was way younger than him too...
u/CarterCageIt's sad to see that a father would react like that in front of his child who's going to remember that forever. It was the perfect opportunity to teach that child compassion and tolerance, but the father decided to just move away from OP.
Reddit wholeheartedly sided with OP and we hope this girl has a fast recovery.
