Studio Ghibli makes people’s eyes go wide and their smiles bigger, while they start chatting about which of the animated films holds the most special place in their hearts. Ghibli is a Japanese animation studio best renowned for its lovely hand-drawn animations, but everything changes with time, including Ghibli.
The studio unveiled the trailer for Earwig and the Witch, which was their most recent film and their first project to feature computer-generated images, also known as CGI. The son of Hayao Miyazaki, Goro Miyazaki, directed the 3D animated film, which had its Japanese premiere in December and US debut in 2021.
There is much to be thrilled about, but it's wise to be patient. Many of the studio's films use animation to create their distinctive ambiance, but with CGI, things are different.
It's not always a terrible thing, and not always different either. The animated movie is about a self-centered witch in the British countryside who adopts an orphan.
You should be able to tell that it's a Ghibli production just by reading that description. However, it is still missing something, isn’t it?
The legend behind Ghibli classics like My Neighbor Totoro, Princess Mononoke, Castle in the Sky, Spirited Away, Howl's Moving Castle, among others, is Hayao, the director's father.

GKIDS FilmsGoro is not a newcomer to the animation industry, but he still has a lot of ground to cover. And there are a lot of demands placed on his shoulders.
This complicates the bond between Goro and his father. For instance, Goro had previously vowed to avoid careers in the animation industry, but as luck would have it, he ended up there.
Some fans of Ghibli were quite critical of the movie and its use of CGI.

Summer HeathEven though you’re not a huge fan of CGI, you ought to be excited about Earwig and the Witch because the trailer just screams Studio Ghibli. Are you a fan of the trailer? Fantastic!
Have you watched the movie yet? Do not fret. Hayao, Goro’s father, happens to be working on the 2D film, How Do You Live, which will most likely be made available in a few years.
