Peculiar Dogs Like To Sit In The Strangest Positions
Dogs love sitting in weird positions, and one of them is “the rarest sit,” as the moderator of the Twitter account Thoughts Of Dog called it. The dog executes this "rarest sit" in a way that allows it to say, “my butt is on one stair, while my front feet extend to the stair below.”
Location is not that important, but stairs, beds, and couches are most dogs' favorite spots, probably because they provide support for this awkward position. The Twitter account manager for the popular dog profile invited people to share pictures of their dogs sitting this way, and it soon became apparent that this is not uncommon.
We have selected some of the funniest sitting dog photos, and we know you are going to enjoy them.

Michele Wan, a certified animal behaviorist and owner of Advanced Dog Behavior Solutions, says: "Some dogs appear to sit in these positions so they can be at a certain vantage point or location."
She added: "You might find a large dog sitting in a 'multi-level' position on the stairs in order to look out a window or door." Michele claims that even if these positions look awkward, "many dogs seem relaxed and comfortable in these positions."

“Currently having five dogs myself and volunteering with countless rescue and foster dogs, most dogs prefer a curled-up or straight position,” Kimberley stated.
She added that dogs don’t see the world the same way as people do, so even if “curling into a small ball, head resting off of the sofa, legs tucking under or over the couch” doesn’t look relaxing to us, many dogs find it especially pleasant.

Dogs sometimes sit in really odd positions, and it turns out there are many strange ways pooches can bend, and it’s completely normal. Kimberly Freeman, the creator of City Dog Expert and a professional dog trainer, says:
"Just like with humans, dog sitting positions are sometimes more “unique” than others." For example, “‘frog legs’ (legs straight back and to each side of the body) are very common in puppies” who still don’t have their skeletons fully developed.
