Sadly, as much as we want them to, dogs don't live as long as humans do. In fact, their lifespans are just a quarter of what most humans' lifetimes are.

That's why a lot of fur parents like to spend as much time as they can with their dogs. They understand that while 10 or 12 years might seem like a long time, it would seem so short when their dog's time is near.

As it is though, not everyone has the luxury of simply spending every minute of their time with their dogs. People also have to work, have social lives, and so much more and while they'd want to involve their dogs in every single one, that can't always be the case.

Sometimes, dog owners even have to make tough decisions and choose one over the other which is the case for Redditor MailedSnail. She had to choose whether to spend the weekend with her boyfriend or her pooch.

She would have wanted them to both be there for the trip she planned, however, her boyfriend is allergic. She doesn't want to leave her dog behind either especially since she isn't able to spend as much time with her dog as it is and now she feels bad for choosing her dog.
