Mother Dog’s Act of Love and Bravery Saves Her and Her Puppies from Freezing in the Cold
The love of a mother for her children can be profound and priceless. A mother can go to any length, even risking her life, to keep her children safe and sound.
There must be a strong bond between mothers and their children. This is exactly the case for a dog mother, Hera, who found herself and her puppies in a precarious situation.
Hera, a single mother dog, sacrificed everything to protect her puppies. With temperatures below zero and blizzard conditions, Hera worried about her newborn puppies.
She was concerned for their survival, so she put her faith in the locals, hoping they would care for her and save her and her young ones.
Hera delivered three puppies in a sewer pipe near a village in Serbia. Despite the lack of protection from the wind, the dedicated mother was discovered scratching nearby to feed herself.
But then winter arrived, and Hera and her children were in danger. Unfortunately, she had nowhere to seek shelter and protection.
When it seemed that the puppies and their mother were headed for disaster, the stakes changed in their favor. It was the dead of winter, with snowdrifts and frigid temperatures, and this dog was walking in and out of the sewer pipe and the surrounding area.
Locals noticed Hera walking in and out of the snow-covered sewer as people passed by, so she did not go unnoticed.
It was as if she knew that somebody would surely come to her aid—and they did!
This prompted a concerned passerby to contact Mladenovac's dog rescue team. They proceeded to the location and discovered the dog they had heard about.
The Brave Mother Dog Went All Out for Her Kids
They peered inside and discovered three tiny pups! Hera ran out of the pipe to greet Milan, a member of the dog rescue team, and communicated her concern for her poor kids.
Hera and Her Puppies Were Returned to the Dog Rescue Shelter
The puppies were about four weeks old and in excellent condition, but attempting to rescue them proved far more difficult than anticipated. It was at that spot that they named the mama dog Hera.

Despite their mom reassuring them, these pups were withdrawing from the rescuers because they hadn’t been close to humans before, making it hard to rescue them. The rescuers, however, did not come all that way just to give up on them.
A Little Before It Became Too Dark, They Got the Pups Out of the Pipe
They needed to devise a clever way to save the pups without injuring them, and darkness was approaching! He spent many hours in the cold attempting to remove them with a broom. At last, just before it became too dark, they successfully got the pups out of the pipe without injuring them.
They Received the Necessary Veterinary Care and Were Kept Warm and Comfortable
Hera and her babies were reunited, and the appreciative look in her big eyes was well worth it! Hera and her babies are now safe and secure thanks to the kindness and effort of the locals.

Hera and her puppies were returned to the Dog Rescue Shelter, where they received the necessary veterinary care and were kept warm and comfortable. This mama and her puppies were extremely grateful for the attention and care provided by these compassionate individuals!

No one really knew how long Hera and her pups had been trapped in a sewer pipe. But one thing they genuinely believed: if they didn't get help right away, they would perish from the cold.
What a caring mother! Even though they were in a difficult situation, she made certain that her babies received the assistance they required. It's fortunate for these three puppies that their mother is so brave.
