Dog Sensed That Her Pregnant Mom Was On The Verge Of Giving Birth And Tried To Forewarn Her
How many times have you wished your pet could talk? And if they could, what do you think they would tell you first?
Although the ability to speak is not a reality, we can teach them to communicate in other ways. Just imagine for a moment what your relationship would look like if they could express all their feelings. It would surely lead to some interesting conversations.
Since clear and loud talking is not an option for them, we learn to discern their methods of expression. They typically use body language.
With those gorgeous eyes, they'll try to direct your attention to something, cuddle with you, or curl up next to you. With all those cues, you'll understand what they are trying to convey; their different behaviors cannot go unrecognized.
Recently, a dog attempted to warn her owner about the most significant moment of her life. She lives with her mom, Olivia Lachenauer, and is a 2-year-old golden retriever named Penny.
Penny has a calm and warm nature, making her the perfect companion for her mom, who also benefits from her as an excellent PTSD service animal. Her mom says that Penny has been incredibly helpful to her.
She is a sensitive dog who cares deeply for her, and her life is much better with Penny by her side. Penny likes to look after her mom all the time, but when Olivia became pregnant, she became even more vigilant.
Not long ago, Olivia had her final exam for nursing school and was feeling a bit stressed. However, Penny's behavior was even more concerning.
Olivia noted that Penny appeared very worried, and she initially thought it was due to her own tension about the finals. Instead of sitting next to her and providing moral support, the usually peaceful dog acted very strangely.
She continuously poked her nose at her mom's belly. Later that day, it became clear that Penny had a beautiful reason for her unusual behavior.
1. Meet Penny, the friendliest dog ever.

2. Penny spent the day poking her mother's belly as if she sensed something.
During Olivia's exam, it became clear why Penny was behaving that way. Olivia experienced contractions and had to go to the maternity hospital. Her labor began, and later that evening, her little boy was born.
So all that time, her best furry friend was trying to tell her what was about to happen. She sensed that she would be getting her younger brother that day.

3. Olivia called her parents, and they took her to the maternity hospital for childbirth.
“On question 63, I started having the worst contractions ever. I finished my final, my parents came over, and by that night, my beautiful baby boy was born! Penny knew before I did that something was off,” said Lachenauer.

4. Penny immediately fell in love with her younger brother.
“Once I was settled, she turned into a super-nanny dog! It was adorable. She’s great with all of my kids but especially loves checking on the baby and will lay by his swing, under his bassinet, and supervise tummy time from a safe distance,” said Olivia.

5. "Penny is attentive, sweet, and just overall wonderful with the newborn," said Olivia.
“I think her relationship with this baby is so strong because she’s been there since day one for him,” explained Penny's mom.

Olivia said:
"She’s really mellow and super sweet. She’s always been very attentive to me. She’s that calming factor and is trained for interventions during both night and day. She usually catches my triggers before I do, and it has absolutely changed my quality of life."
And this time, Penny did her thing again. She warned her mother that the baby was about to arrive and that she should get ready to meet a new family member.
