Adorable Dog, Poppy, Surprisingly Delivers Her Babies While Having Her Pregnancy Photoshoot

Poppy was already very pregnant when she arrived with her foster family. Saving Grace NC had rescued her from a North Carolina shelter, and while no one knew where she’d come from or what she’d been through, her foster mom, Carter Cifelli, had thought she’d been pregnant before.

She expected the sweet dog to have her puppies soon and tried to make her as relaxed as possible before that day arrived. Cifelli was more concerned with allowing Poppy to adjust to her new surroundings and getting her some good nutrition.

Poppy woke up and went about her day as usual, and nothing seemed out of the ordinary. Cifelli was expecting a quiet day because there were no signs that Poppy was ready to be put to bed.

Cifelli kept a close eye on Poppy and kept pleading with her to come inside, but she was too content to relax and bask under the sun. She seemed at ease when she climbed into a chair on the deck.

Cifelli was just glad she was resting and let her be for about 10 minutes before deciding it was time for her to come inside. She went over and wanted to give Poppy her pregnancy photoshoot because she looked so cute.

She took a few pictures and then realized something wasn’t right. When Cifelli was very close to her, Poppy turned her head and was licking someone on the chair, and that’s when Cifelli noticed a puppy there.

There were no signs that Poppy was ready to give birth yet

Poppy had apparently been so comfortable and content resting outside on the board that she decided that it was time to give birth right there on the spot, and her foster mom was completely shocked. Cifelli gently moved the puppy inside after witnessing what had just happened, and Poppy happily followed her.

She got the pair settled in, and Poppy, after which, gave birth to six more pups. Cifelli was sure Poppy had pups before, and she was right. She definitely appears to be a seasoned mom, as she was very relaxed during her delivery and clearly knew what to do.

Despite surprising her foster mom, the rest of Poppy’s delivery went very smoothly, and her pups are truly the loveliest things ever. There were no complications, and her puppies were all healthy and sound.

There were no complications and all of her puppies were healthy!

The puppies are now three and a half weeks old, and all seven of them, along with their mother, are doing well. Everyone is looking forward to finding Poppy a home where she can find the peace and comfort she so richly deserves.
