If you were born before around 1995, Disney movies likely set the absolute TONE for the level of extravagance and romance that we (boys and girls alike) expect from our future relationships. Yep, I said it.

Nowadays, Disney films are far more practical and some lead characters don't even have a love interest (Queen Elsa, I see you, girl!). Back in the day, though, Disney was ALLLLL about the romance.

Aladdin took Jasmine on a magic carpet ride over a city, The Beast gave Belle her own Library, Eugene scaled a building for Rapunzel, Shrek sent Lord Farquaad packing and John Smith TOOK A BULLET FROM A MUSKET - YES - a whole damn bullet, to prove his love for Pocahontas.

In saying this, if you're a true Disney fanatic, you probably don't need reminding of all the sumptuous, flashy extravagant romance in these films.
