19 Annoying Plot Holes In Disney Movies That Still Do Not Make Any Sense

If you grew up with Disney movies, it's a given knowledge that you had a great childhood, at least on that part. Disney movies have become a part of our identity as we grew older, and even now, as adults, we all still admittedly enjoy all the movies they produce, like Frozen, Inside Out, and Encanto.

As kids, we enjoyed and loved the movies because of all the colors, the characters, and the songs that are embedded along with the story. But as adults, we begin to appreciate these movies in all the different layers that come along with them—the production, writing, voice actors, animation, and the most important of all, the storyline.

Because let's face it, when we watched these movies for the first time as kids, some of the storylines and easter eggs just flew over our naive heads. But come the day we rewatch them all as adults, you would begin to notice certain details that need to be questioned and be up for debate.

Nothing is exactly perfect, and these Disney movies certainly aren't polished to perfection, even if it may seem they are. Like any other movie in production, mistakes are bound to happen, but what's great is that most people just treat them as easter eggs and nothing more.

However, some of the details that people point out really make us question some things because as it turns out, there are actually some annoying plot holes that we failed to notice the first time these movies came out. Now that they have been rewatched over and over again, there are actually some details that seem out of place from the story.

That being said, some users all over social media platforms actually pointed out some pretty annoying plot holes that Disney movies always seem to have. Take a look at some of them below!

1. Ariel who seemed to forget that she could write when her voice was stolen from her.

"Maybe the biggest one of all — we know that Ariel can read and write, since she signs Ursula's contract. Why doesn't she search for a quill and parchment, or even WRITE IN THE SAND, when she meets Prince Eric?"

2. To be fair, it's kind of challenging to be told not to do something but doing it anyway.

"Despite being told NUMEROUS times not to go to the West Wing in the castle, WHY does Belle go anyway — and then acts surprised when the Beast is mad at her for doing so?!?"

3. The thing about Genie and wishes...

"The Genie's magic doesn't *QUITE* hold up. When Aladdin wishes to be a prince, Genie just gives him the clothing and a parade. But when Jafar wishes to be Sultan, Genie upends the monarchy. HUH?"

4. Mulan and her magic cloth that could remove her makeup in one swift motion

"A smaller one, but troubling nonetheless — how was Mulan able to wipe her makeup off with her sleeve in one smooth motion?"

5. That portrait indeed does not look like an 11-year-old boy.

"The timeline in Beauty and the Beast seems to be totally messed up. For starters, the Beast is cursed when he is a young boy (probably about 11 years old) — yet there's a human portrait of him in the castle as a young man! We need answers."

6. Honestly, why?

"Despite the fact they're both dogs, Goofy wears clothes and walks/talks, while Pluto walks on all fours and barks. What?!"

7. The glass slippers not disappearing in Cinderella

"Everything that the Fairy Godmother transformed reverted back to its original state at the stroke of midnight — except Cinderella's glass slippers. Why didn't they turn back?"

8. She's the man!

"Was Mulan really *THAT* good at dressing in drag that she fooled the entire Chinese army into thinking she was a man? That includes Shang, who interacted with her face-to-face!"

9. A jerk move

"And then let's talk about how Shang abandoned Mulan in the snow AFTER she saved his life and the Chinese army. What a jerk move — WHY was he such an asshole?"

10. Anteaters showing up in The Lion King

"Why do anteaters (which are native to SOUTH AND CENTRAL AMERICA) show up during "I Just Can't Wait To Be King" in The Lion King, which takes place in AFRICA?!"

11. With romance in her mind, she could have not been able to think about anything else!

"Why didn't Cinderella keep her chill when she heard Prince Charming was looking for her? If she had kept her cool, her Stepmother wouldn't have locked her up!"

12. They were just making the whole process a lot more difficult and slower.

"On that note, why did Prince Charming have to search far and wide for Cinderella and check EVERY single woman's foot in the kingdom? If he was searching for the love of his life, wouldn't he at least have remembered her facial features and that she was blonde?"

13. The million dollar question that has been bugging us ever since

"OK another Cinderella question: If the glass slipper was such a perfect fit, then why did it fall off in the first place?"

14. Maybe they were too caught up with their own village?

"Additionally, the castle is just a short distance from Belle's village. Did none of the villagers notice the building descend into disrepair in just a few short years?"

15. It's Elsa, she can survive it

"OK, this is just a matter of practicality — if Elsa built an all-ice castle, wouldn't that mean her bed was just a block of ice? WHAT ABOUT HER TOILET? It just doesn't seem comfortable!"

16. It's a valid emotion, though!

"Swinging back to Ariel. King Triton is LEGIT scary when he discovers her grotto. Why is he SO angry when he destroys her prized possessions?"

17. Buzz dilemma

"Buzz *THINKS* he's a Space Ranger in Toy Story, but freezes up like the rest of the toys whenever a human is in their presence. What gives?"

18. Actually, though, she didn't know any better.

"Why does Snow White eat food from a damn stranger?!?! SHE SHOULD KNOW BETTER!"

19. And live a Happily Ever After!

"And finally, How the HELL do some Disney characters fall in love and marry each other after barely knowing one another?"

Some of these are actually quite forgivable, but some truly make us think why it was overlooked in the first place. One way or another, though, Disney movies have been a huge part of our childhood, and even though the stories may not be perfect in all aspects, they are still equally magical and special to most of us.
