"What if" is the greatest question of all
What kind of influence did Disney have on your childhood (assuming it had any at all)? Did it make an impression on you?
Did it inspire you to want to be a princess or a prince? Did it inspire you to be more creative?
Disney, on the other hand, never ceases to be a source of inspiration for many artists, particularly when it comes to its female protagonists. Whether or not you understand the Disney attraction, we can all admire these artistic efforts for their artistic value alone.
Fanart is one of the greatest "achievements" of Disney culture. It enabled us (who lack the talent to create our own) to see our favorite characters in different versions.
And with so many artists producing fanart, it's impossible not to run into someone who shares your ideas. Well, if you've ever wondered what would a mashup between Disney and Warcraft characters look like, you are in luck.Artist Libertad Delgado Rodrguez (aka LiberLibelula) from Spain made it happen.
She modestly says "Come on, blame me for zero originality. I had fun XD I love Disney and World of Warcraft, so why not a crossover?" But we believe these illustrations are true works of art.
That's why we've selected 15 of her best pieces, and we know you are going to love them. Take a look and tell us what you think:
On her website, the artist says: “ Hi everyone! I'm Libertad, an artist, and writer from Spain. I love bright colors, character portraits, designing book covers, and stories that combine Fantasy, Romance, and Horror.
In fact, I love stories so much I've published three novels for your enjoyment (and two of them are in English!). In my work, you'll find lots of fantasy, color, a tiny hint of darkness, and, in some cases, baffling amounts of silliness.”
A few baddies were also included by the artist. After all, what’s a Disney story without a proper villain? The artist paid attention to even the tiniest details, dressing her reinvented characters in outfits and accessories that pay homage to the original stories.
World of Warcraft (WoW) is a massively multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG) that was released in 2004 by the American corporation Blizzard Entertainment. Massively multiplayer games are those in which thousands, if not millions, of players, can play online at the same time, usually in persistent gaming worlds (with characters that are stored and then reactivated whenever a player rejoins).
The statistics say that around 4.8 million people subscribe to World of Warcraft. There are at least 34,000 WoW active players at any given moment.
People in the US account for 23% of the game's user base. Considering how popular this game and Disney are, this is a mashup that absolutely needed to be created.
