Ever since Disney was founded in 1923, children everywhere have grown up with the magic and wonder of Disney films, toys, and theme parks. And, for many, that magic continues well into adulthood.

So much so that the term "Disney adult" was coined to describe grown-up lovers of the enterprise. In fact, adults are some of the most fanatic Disney enthusiasts!

Disney adults love collecting merchandise, visiting Disneyland, and consuming as much Disney content as they can get their hands on. Disney travel agent Carrie Showalter says she adores being part of the Disney adult community and visiting some of the famous theme parks with her friends.

"As much as I love going to Disney with my children, there's something extra special about an adults-only trip," Carrie said. "I just got back from a Disney cruise and a trip to Walt Disney World with my girlfriends; it was the perfect escape!"

Carrie explained that Disney parks have become more popular because there are so many activities on offer for adults to enjoy. Not only that, but it's a safe environment for people to relax in.

Of course, most adults love a trip down memory lane, and Disney nostalgia is the perfect source of happy childhood memories. "If you are someone who visited as a kid, there's a warm fuzzy feeling you get when you walk down Main Street, USA, and see the same Cinderella's Castle you saw as a child. There's comfort in that; it's a feeling you want to hang on to," Carrie said.
