The struggle is real.

Dads Are Seriously Fed Up That There Aren't Changing Tables In Men's Restrooms And Are Exposing The Problem On Social Media

I don't know who needs to hear this, but I do know a lot of people need to hear it: dads change diapers, too! They change them at home; they change them out in public. THEY CHANGE DIAPERS! Whether dad works out of the home, in the home, or is a stay at home dad, the modern world leaves no room for archaic or misogynistic concepts that dads are off-doody-duty.

While moms are on the sidelines cheering on their male counterparts changing diapers, dads have quickly noticed that the outside world has not caught up with this concept. It's extremely rare to find a changing table in a men's restroom and family restrooms don't always exist either. The lengths dads have had to go through to change diapers out in public has definitely become the sort of thing we need to talk about and you're about to see exactly why.

Chris Boneyard Mau is a doting dad, but he shared on Facebook this photo and captioned it perfectly:

I'm getting pretty sick of having to change my daughter on a disgusting floor because the only changing table in the place is located in the women's bathroom. It's crazy to imagine I know but there are guys who take care of their kids too you asshats. If it's a public place with public restrooms in the generation of equality among genders and races then how about making sure us fathers can change our children's diapers on a goddamn changing table like the mother's can. Am I asking too much?

In his 30's, the father of four says he was "dumbfounded" to see his post go viral in a mere 24 hours, but on Love What Matters he said:

I honestly hope this post will reach all the right people and good things come of it for all parents and children alike.

Chris isn't the only dad to take his frustrations to a social media platform, another dad, Donte Palmer, father of three, found his viral post resonating far and wide when he shared his diaper dilemma on Instagram:

This is a serious post!!! What’s the deal with not having changing tables in men’s bathroom as if we don’t exist!! #FLM #fatherslivesmatter clearly we do this often because look how comfortable my son is. It’s routine to him!!!! Let’s fix this problem! I Kaepernick drop a knee to this issue! @theshaderoom let’s show the innovation of fathers! #squatforchange

As a mother myself, can I just pause for a moment to point out that my kids would never sit so patiently in such a position for a diaper change. Donte is an expert.

Today, dads are breaking down stereotypes and delight in being involved parents, but Donte is right: this changing table issue is unacceptable.

Since he's been raising awareness, he has also been celebrating successes he stumbles across and that is super exciting!

However frustrated he may feel, Palmer hasn't lost a sense of humor. In a follow-up post he joked about joining his older son for football conditioning... but for him it was squat-training for their next diaper fiasco!

In an interview with Scary Mommy, Palmer said that for a long time, fathers have been looked at as “being absent in our children’s lives. Taking care of children has been a job deemed necessary for women. At times society complains about the presence of fathers not being involved but in all actuality there are a ton of fathers willing to step up to the plate.”

He continues to share the dad-struggle on Instagram whenever he sees a dad who is also illuminating the inequality struggle today's dads are fighting against.
