Couple Who Found A Baby Watermelon Were Shocked When They Realized It Was An Arachnid

Spiders are so scary... these creepy-looking creatures move unpredictably fast and can be really frightening. But there's a type of spider completely opposite of what people commonly think about these creepy crawlers.

Bjørn-Gunnar Lunde and his wife went out on a hike to enjoy nature and appreciate its beautiful sights. At one point in their journey, Lunde looked to the ground. Something caught his eye. He saw a strange-looking thing on his wife's shoe.

He thought that it was either a small watermelon or a tiny, deformed cucumber. They took a closer look at the fruit-looking thing and realized it's actually a spider.

The couple confirmed that it was indeed a spider when it started creating a web. Lunde gently placed it on the ground to take a photo.

Indeed these spiders look like a small fruit or vegetable rather than an animal. It's precisely the reason why they were named cucumber spiders.

These strange yet cute creatures are found in parts of Central Asia, Europe, and North America.

Typically seen between May and September, cucumber spiders can be hard to identify. Their beautiful green color enables them to blend into the environment.

Their webs are usually found between flowers and leaves. They also tend to crawl more on the ground. And this is probably why the couple found it on a shoe.

These spiders don't use a hiding spot. With how excellent they are at hiding in plain sight, it's awesome that the Lunde couple were able to find one.

Lunde mentioned that he has seen such spiders before. But not that often.

Ultimately, the spider crawled away on the trail, looking like a cute walking watermelon. What an incredible sight to see!
