Mankind has already existed on Earth for thousands of years and where mankind goes, things happen. Sometimes, these things are too mundane that they go by unnoticed but other times, they take up so much interest that they actually get passed down from generation to generation.

In addition to that, a lot of people in different corners of the world have developed different beliefs based on things passed down to them by their ancestors and such. Combine this with strange happenings that no one can properly explain and you've got yourself something like an urban legend.

More often than not, these stories are told around campfires or to people who are new to the place. All the same, these stories hold a certain charm that gets a person's interest whether they like it or not.

There's just something about the mystery they hold. Some people even love the gruesome details of the story.

With some stories, people even go on a quest to try and prove if it's real or not. Some even gain some kind of following.
