A favorite topic of conversation both online and in-person are stories about relationships. One of the first things we ask our friends when we see them is what's going on in their dating life.

No matter how long these romantic relationships last, there is always at least one juicy story that will either make us hear alarm bells or wedding bells. Either way, they are definitely interesting.

So interesting are these kinds of stories that some of them even go viral. The internet loves nothing more than a crazy relationship story they can gossip about.

Take into account just how fast celebrity breakup stories start trending. Even just the hint of unproven separation and divorce sends the general public into a frenzy.

Individuals willingly spend hours of their day digging around for proof that their favorite TV couple has gone their separate ways. Sometimes even stories about non-celebrity couples go viral and for good reason: they are most definitely out of the norm.

There's one particular Reddit thread that has sent shockwaves online because of the eyebrow-raising crazy ex stories shared by the anonymous users. Some of these stories are certifiably demented and would have landed them in jail had they been caught.

After reading these anecdotes you might just be glad that you're single. Being alone is definitely better than being with some of these devil-adjacent former partners.

Thankfully his roommate noticed he was gone, reported him missing, then bailed him out

There is no shortage of weird and crazy ex stories but these ones really took it to another level, didn't they? They did say you will kiss a lot of frogs before you meet someone you'll like but they didn't exactly warn us some frogs would be poisonous.

It's an amazing thing that these folks even managed to escape the claws of their hellish exes. This is one of the few times where I believe a higher power could be looking out for us but also that higher power put these terrible people in our paths so what do I really know?
