How many of you swoon over bedrooms of Instagram? I'm guilty, but I know you are too.
The problem here isn't about swooning over tidy and staged rooms, the problem is believing that those rooms belong to a family with small kids. It's impossible.
A lot of people, including myself, used to think that parenthood is a smooth ride and that nothing can stop you from keeping your house clean. I mean, how difficult can it be to make sure everything's in its place?
It's not only difficult, but it's also a challenge you have to overcome... I don't know, maybe six million times a day? You clean the house in the early morning before your kids wake up, but five seconds after they wake up, it's dirtier than you even thought possible.
How do you explain that?! You can't.
Kids are messy, and they have to be, otherwise, they're not kids. Ever seen a grownup throwing food, splashing paint, and throwing a full-blown tantrum?
Oh way, then there was a Karen. My bad.
Point is, parents with small kids have so much to do that keeping the house spic-and-span has the least priority. Getting through the day and making sure the kids are fine is the top priority.
So all parents who're constantly apologizing for your unkempt rooms, please don't. We promise not to judge.

Don't criticize a parent for not cleaning. They're not 'not cleaning' for fun, it's just too much at times.
