We're back again today with yet another post from Reddit, and this one is from the relationships thread. This thread is one where people come to get advice or opinions from people who are unbiased toward their situation.
Ultimately, there are many reasons that someone might want to come to the relationships thread, whether it's to vent, get advice on their romantic relationship, or even get advice on relationships that aren't romantic. In this case, we are looking at a post that was submitted by a wife who is upset at her in-laws for wanting her and her husband to have a full ceremony wedding now instead of just signing papers how they want to do.
OP is not okay with this because she says that's not what she wants, and they want to be able to have the wedding that they want right now. OP gives lots of details as to why they want her to do this and what kind of things are going on for her not to want to do it this way.
Really though, she should be able to choose what she wants to do for her wedding, and nobody should get to tell her what she should and shouldn't do. If you're interested in hearing the full story and seeing the whole post, then keep on reading as we dive in and check out the full post and all the best comments.
OP starts off the post with a shortened version but then dives into all the details that we need to know.
u/impertinentfoalShe came with an update as well that stated that her husband talked to his parents about this whole situation and tried getting them to understand.
u/impertinentfoalIt seems like some people are giving her advice but she's not willing to hold the truth from them.
Darth_GlowWormIt's true that her husband should be the one dealing with his parents but we get it if he wants to avoid that as well.
DFahnzUltimately this is true; it's her and her husband's day so they can do whatever they want essentially.
Whole-Exchange7456So many people don't understand why they're even telling her what to do with her own wedding and we don't understand it either.
SpartEng76OP responded to a lot of the comments and told their perspective as well adn their thoughts on why their in-laws were acting like this.
impertinentfoalThis person had a pretty valid reasoning as to why her in-laws might be acting this way and we can definitely see it as being a possibility.
Kooky-Farm-1653Many people are just encouraging her to set boundaries and do what she needs to do in order to make sure that her situation progresses the way she wants.
goodytwotoesOP responded to the comment above and seemed pretty happy that someone said all this to her.
impertinentfoalMany people offered a lot of advice to OP in this situation and she seemed to take it all in with open arms. We love to see an OP engaging with their comments and really talking to give us more information on the story and in this case, we got that.
