These Celebs Literally Cannot Keep Their Mouths Shut
Don't worry, they're just yawnin'

Yawning is obviously the act of opening your mouth and taking in a long, deep breath of air. While you yawn, your eardrums stretch and sometimes your eyes will water.
It is one of those weird bodily reactions everyone experiences. Typically it’s considered a sign of being tired or sleepy, or just bored, but yawns can also just be caught by someone else yawning since they’re somehow contagious.
There have been several theories as to why we yawn, like as a way to replenish the body's oxygen supplies, as a reflex to cool the brain, or even for stretching the lungs. But recently Andrew C. Gallup, a behavioral scientist at the State University of New York Polytechnic Institute, has suggested a new theory.
Gallup suggests that yawning began as an evolutionary reflex developed in order to warn others in a pack that someone may be less alert so that the group will need to be extra alert to keep an eye out for predators. And that the contagiousness of yawning is part of that adaptation to help enhance group synchrony and vigilance.
It’s wild that something so completely basic our bodies just does without having to think about or purposefully move to happen has been studied so deeply. This new theory is pretty cool, and I think further helps to remind us that humans are also part of the animal kingdom.
A weird part of the animal kingdom that idolizes others of their species for entertaining them. So much so others will follow them around and take pictures of them existing outside their entertainment roles and catch random things like them yawning.
A specifically odd segue to the 25 random-ass pictures of celebrities yawning we found on the internet. Scroll to see your favorite celebs in all their silly-yawn-faced glory.

Instagram / yawning_celebsI've literally lost count of how many times I yawned working on this.
I guess it goes to show how contagious yawns can be, that still photos can be just as effective at encouraging yawning as much as in person. Also, surprisingly just writing or reading the word "yawn/yawning" is enough to trigger my apparently weak-ass yawn reflex.
What about you, did any of these pictures or reading about yawning cause you to yawn? Which celebrity yawn was your favorite?
Marisa Tomei is flawlessly stunning, even mid-yawn, in my humble opinion. Let us know your experience and thoughts in the comments section, and see if you can make a friend yawn by sharing this with them!
