Traveling by plane has to be one of the most simple activities that humans engage in. You board the plane, sit down, and after a predetermined amount of time, you stand up and exit the plane.

However, some celebrities appear to be terrible flyers, far worse than the average bored, nervous flyer. Perhaps it’s because celebrities are so frequently pampered in their daily lives that they appear to believe the rules of air travel do not apply to them.

They want to take a stand if they’re not meant to, play on their smartphone when they’re not meant to, and have everyone around them act in accordance with their wishes. It’s no surprise that so many of them have been whacked off planes or arrested once the flight has landed.

Obviously, there is a certain level of civility that is required when people fly, but as anyone who has flown knows, not everyone seems to follow it. Sadly, certain celebrities appear to be part of that group.

Mike Tyson hit the headlines for getting into a brawl on a plane, but he is far from the first celebrity to face such consequences. And some of those who have been kicked off flights are not the people we would have expected to cause so much trouble.

1. Kate Moss

The supermodel was escorted off an EasyJet flight at England's London Luton airport in 2015 after squabbling with flight crew members over alcohol.

2. Mike Tyson

He was taken off a flight after reportedly getting violent with a fellow passenger. Well, it appeared that Mike punched a man who had requested to take a photo with him before proceeding to harass him as the flight continued.

3. Alec Baldwin

He was booted off an American Airlines plane after refusing to turn off his cellphone before takeoff.

4. Dave Chappelle

While aboard a private jet heading from New Jersey to Ohio, Dave reportedly exhibited such erratic behavior that the pilot opted to divert the plane to Pittsburgh in order to make an emergency landing.

5. Selma Blair

Selms allegedly went on a bizarre rant and then blacked out. She was carried off a plane on a stretcher and rushed to a Los Angeles hospital.

Selma apologized days later saying she made the mistake of mixing alcohol with prescription medication.

7. Christian Slater

In 1994, Christian Slater boarded a Delta flight with an unlicensed 9mm pistol in his carry-on luggage, which resulted in his removal from the flight and swift arrest.

Donald Trump's ex-wife, Ivana Trump was tossed off a plane in Florida in 2009 after allegedly screaming obscenities at a group of rowdy children who were running down the aisles.

8. Billie Joe Armstrong

In 2011, Billie Joe Armstrong was sent off an Oakland-to-Burbank flight for wearing his pants too low. Apparently, some Southwest Air employees consider saggy pants a big offense.

9. Naomi Campbell

She was kicked off a British Airways flight in 2008 for allegedly going on a screaming rampage when told that one of the bags was AWOL.

Late Dolores O'Riordan had some lingering anger issues back in 2014 when she caused a ruckus during a flight from New York to Shannon, Ireland.

In 2010, Kevin Smith was booted off a Southwest Air flight for being overweight. Well, he had purchased two seats for the flight from Oakland to Burbank, California, but decided to fly stand-by on an earlier flight, purchasing the one remaining seat on it.

The flight attendants said he was infringing on the comfort of adjacent passengers and told him to leave.

12. Leisha Hailey

She was kicked off a Southwest Air flight for kissing her girlfriend, Camila Grey, who was seated next to her. Apparently, a flight attendant asked the lesbian couple to refrain from any more PDA, but they both let out their outrage and were escorted off the plane.

13. Gérard Depardieu

After having too much to drink before boarding a CityJet flight in 2011, the French actor felt a pressing need to urinate but was told to wait until the plane had reached the appropriate cruising altitude. Then, he attempted to pee into an empty bottle and it splattered on the floor, leading to him being thrown out.

In 2010, the actor was escorted off an airplane in New York City for reportedly refusing to turn off his BlackBerry smartphone before takeoff.

15. Mo'Nique

She was kicked off a United Airlines flight in 2006 following an argument over a hair dryer. A crew member issued a warning to Mo’Nique but she became enraged saying she was being racially profiled.

16. Liam Gallagher

He got a lifelong ban from Cathay Pacific in 1998 when he ignored the airline's no-smoking policy and lit up a cigarette. He also threw food at other passengers and subjected everyone onboard to abusive language.

In 2003, the musician was led off a plane and arrested for disruptive behavior and endangering an aircraft minutes after her Virgin Atlantic flight touched down in London.

18. Conrad Hilton

On a flight from London to Los Angeles in 2014, Conrad was reportedly smoking weed and cigarettes in the airplane bathroom. He also insulted and threatened crew members, and was arrested upon landing.

He defied the American Airlines safety instructions which resulted in two armed officers removing him from the plane.

He was banned from entering a British Airways flight in 2006 because he was deemed too drunk to fly from London to Los Angeles.

She was kicked off of a flight leaving Texas in 2016 after she allegedly caused a disturbance while intoxicated.

He was taken off from a flight in 2021 after reportedly getting into an argument with his wife Cassandra Jean Amell.

23. Lamar Odom

In 2016, the NBA player was kicked off a Delta flight after he was spotted drinking in a lounge before the flight.

The saying goes, “Fight or flight,” but for some celebrities, it’s fight and flight. Pilots and flight attendants do experience situations like this, which can be stressful for both them and the passengers.
