Cats aren't usually known for forming unlikely friendships, unless you consider that some cats liking dogs is unlikely. There are some friendship dynamics that seem strange, yet still work anyway.

Cats and lizards are definitely an unlikely friendship combination. Lizards and cats almost seem to be polar opposites and appear to be natural enemies.

I'd certainly expect a cat to be more likely to hunt a lizard than to become best friends with it. Perhaps cats enjoy scratching themselves on the lizard’s spines, while the lizards like to cuddle up to the cat for some warmth. I mean, I’ll scratch your back if you warm me up, right?
