Cat Discovers A Snake Trapped In Their Window And Calls Her Owner For Help
Storm has always been vocal ever since she was just a little kitten. When she discovers something in the house, she immediately tells her family about it.
She's proud to show them what she's up to at any given moment. They're always looking forward to what the adorable cat will show them next.
According to Storm's mom, Caitlyn Hartley, she is a curious cat. Storm even makes different kinds of noises.
If Storm were human, she'd probably be very talkative. She's so playful and always engages with her family.
One of the things that prompts Storm to express herself is when she finds animals that need help. The family's basement window features a small pocket that tends to trap wildlife.
Since Storm loves playing in the basement, where she has a cat condo and a slide on the floor, she is usually the first to notice if there's an animal in need of assistance.
She quickly alerts her family about her discoveries. Hartley mentions that Storm has notified her about numerous animals getting stuck in the window.
She's reported a trapped bunny, a mole, and frogs. She even takes pride in discovering beetles, spiders, stink bugs, and other insects in the house.
Storm tried to get her mom's attention one day.
Once again, Storm wanted her mom to accompany her to the basement. Initially, Hartley thought that she only wanted to play.
But when she saw what Storm wanted to report, she realized that another animal was currently stuck in the window.

Not only that, she was quite terrified of the creature.
I was not expecting a snake to get stuck there, and it was a decent-sized garter snake.
Hartley was completely shocked.

Here's the video of Storm reporting the incident to Hartley.
According to Hartley, to set the snake free, her husband opened the window from the basement.
For his safety, he wore gloves when he opened the window and then the screen. He gently yet quickly took the snake and placed it in a box, which Hartley held.
I had to quickly put the sides of the box down enough so the snake didn't jump back out. I carried the snake outside and released it into the cluster of trees by our house.
Thankfully, the snake seemed fine.
It wasn't injured at all. The friendly Hartley asked the snake not to get trapped in their window again.
Hartley positioned the box so that the snake could slither off into the trees. He was finally able to return to his normal life.
As for Storm, she will continue to be vigilant for animals that might get stuck in their basement window. As always, her family will be there to rescue them.
Cats are typically curious. It's one of those traits that we love.
Their curiosity is part of their instincts. If something catches their eye, they are willing to explore it on their own.
For our beloved kitties, the world around them is full of wonder. It's no surprise that Storm always looks concerned when she sees wildlife stuck in the window.
