Family drama is the worst kind of drama because even if you try to escape it, it will always manage to find a way back to you. In any other scenario, you can either ignore the problem or try to stay as far away from it as possible.
Unless you completely cut your family off - something not everyone is ready to do - that problem will eventually pop up out of nowhere when you least expect it. This is why people will usually go above and beyond to make sure they have done right by their family members.
It can become quite toxic if you allow some family members to have a say in some things that don't really concern them. After they realize that they are permitted to alter some aspects of your life, they will try to do it more often and you could never know if their intentions are good or not.
