The adorable shape this catto has is due to her Scoliosis but it hasn't stopped her from enjoying life one bit.
Pitoe is a 4-years old British shorthair cat taking the Internet by storm. This cat named Pitoe narrowly escaped a darker fate being euthanized alongside her litter mates when she was adopted by Marie. The Belgium based cat mum rescued Pitoe, unbothered by the potential woes that could come with a medically unique cat.
You see, the chonky kitty cat has scoliosis and it's left her body a bit misshapen. The round, short, gray cat can credit her adorable stout stature to her curved spine, deformed by scoliosis. Marie shared a little bit of her kitty cat Pitoe on Reddit recently where the seemingly fat cat's waddle made everyone gush and they were stunned to learn that the cat is in fact not fat.
"She has a serious waddle, but she can move about just fine! She can’t jump, but she can climb like a pro and does it quite often,' she explained. 'All in all, she’s a playful little kitty, just in her own way."
Pitoe was brought to Marie's family of veterinarians specifically to be put down.
"She was part of a "bad litter." A lot of them had issues, and then we found out about Pitoe. She was supposed to be put down, because [the breeder] couldn’t sell a kitten like this, and no one knew how she was going to do."
Marie said:
"They feared one would jump over the balcony and harm himself."
Pitoe, however, was different. Marie said her mother realized that Pitoe would not be as active as other kittens.
"She asked that instead of ending her life, she could try giving her to my grandparents."
As comments rolled in on Reddit and social media, Marie made it clear that Pitoe's condition was no surprise and also, no problem:
"We knew about her issues before she ended up in our family, and it’s because of her issues she did."
"Aww I have scoliosis too. Never knew it could affect cats!" One user said.
And another: "I just love this kitty."
"I would lay down my life for this cat at a moment’s notice," a devoted fan enthused.
In a short amount of time, Pitoe the Cat on Instagram has close to 3,000 followers and even some fan art already!
