50 Book-To-Movie Adaptations That Were Actually Given Justice On Screen

If there is one thing that readers truly dislike, it's being excited about a book they read having a film adaptation and then when they finally see it, they end up disappointed because of how far the movie strayed away from the books. It could be as trivial as having the characters not looking as accurate as their book descriptions or it could be because they completely botched the storyline and just went with whatever they think worked best commercially.

Take the first Percy Jackson movies, for instance—and thank the gods we are going to get a series adaptation in this decade that is actually promised by the author himself that the story would be loyal to the books this time; readers and fans, and even the author himself did not like how they compressed all the books in just two movies. Another example is The Maze Runner franchise, The Scorch Trials had so many major differences from the books that most viewers just ended up going home disappointed.

The bottom line? Readers slash viewers would always appreciate it more when adaptations just stick to the books!

Good thing that there are still plenty of other adaptations that did try their best in staying as close to their book counterpart as possible, contrary to the popular stigma against film adaptations being disappointing. There is nothing truly more satisfying than a film adaptation affirming your imagination when you first read the books.

Check out some of the best book-to-movie adaptations that actually tried to stay loyal to the original storyline, and see if you have some of your favorites here!

Some of them may not have perfectly captured the books at a hundred percent, but still, they're most definitely better than the ones who just threw out the story away and just used the characters!
