You probably never believed interspecies friendships do exist, perhaps, the prospect of a friendship in the wild seems unlikely. Interspecies friendship is a bond formed between animals of unrelated species.

There have been numerous reported and documented cases of interspecies friendships among both wild and domesticated animals, with videos and photos as undeniable proof. Naturally, these species would not exist together which makes friendship between them improbable, but domestication increased the chances.

Even as impossible as it sounds, species that prey on the other in nature have developed interspecies friendships. Talk about the relationship and bond between a baby Chimp and a Lynx. 

Lassi Rautiainen is a wildlife photographer who ventured deep into the wilderness of northern Finland to take captivating pictures. He captured the unlikely friendship between two well-known predators of the animal kingdom known for their ferociousness in several heartwarming pictures.

“No-one can know exactly why or how the young wolf and bear became friends,” shared Lassi. “I think that perhaps they were both alone and they were young and a bit unsure of how to survive alone. It seems to me that they feel safe being together.”

The 56-year-old photographer's goal is to bring people closer to nature and the unlikeliness that comes with it. With a dedicated career to exploring the wild of Finland, Lassi does everything to reduce people's perspective of wild life as uncharted territory. 

All his work on wildlife has been depicted with pictorials, articles, interviews and books, all in an attempt to demonstrate the beauty of nature. Lassi's work is undoubtedly impressive, with his respect for the animals in the "big five" evident in his work.

His latest project has been to eradicate and demystify distortions and hearsay on Finland's fierce carnivores. He's a dedicated photographer who has turned things around in the naturescape, he chooses the best locations by the way.

"Tourism has dramatically spread, too!I t’s very unusual to see a bear and a wolf getting on like this” Lassi Rautiainen told the Daily Mail. “From what I could find, it’s actually the first time, at least in Europe, where such a friendship was developed.”
