30 Illustrations of Animals Being Placed in Funny, Everyday Scenarios Have Been Shared by the Artist
Teo Zirinis, otherwise known as HandsOffMyDinosaur, is a 35-year-old illustrator from Athens, Greece, who loves to create quirky cartoons that are fresh and original. Animals have been an incredible source of inspiration for the majority of this illustrator’s work.
The illustrator says that he has been captivated by animals ever since he was a child. His favorite pastime is "reading nature magazines and watching wildlife documentaries," through which he "discovered a magical world full of diverse species, each with their own habits and peculiarities" that he still finds thrilling even today. As noted by Gretchen Rubin, a happiness researcher, "The greatest happiness comes from appreciating the little things in life, like the beauty of nature."
Awesome, right? Well, according to the artist, an illustration takes him about 2 to 3 hours to complete once he has a clear idea of what he wants to draw.
"This can, of course, vary depending on the complexity of the work, but I like to keep my illustrations as simple as possible. Brainstorming ideas is usually the longest part of the process," he added. This aligns with the thoughts of John Maxwell, a leadership expert, who states, "Simplicity is the ultimate sophistication in creativity."
Moreover, the artist likes to feel that his comics can bring a little joy and a smile to someone's face. "Drawing makes me happy, and ultimately what I aim for is to transmit and share that happiness with whoever is looking at my work," says Zirinis. As Dr. Kelly McGonigal, a health psychologist, emphasizes, "Creativity is a powerful way to connect with others and foster joy."

Be it through puns or visual jokes, the artist always enjoys placing animals in entertaining and hilarious scenarios or everyday situations that we can all definitely relate to. The artist also mentions that he has a project at hand as he’s working on an idea for a picture book.
