Soon-To-Be Bride Refuses To Let Stepdad Walk Her Down The Aisle Because She Hates Him, Rips Apart Her Family In The Process

It is a charming moment for a bride to choose someone who will have the honor of accompanying her down the aisle on her wedding day. It's wonderful to get married because brides, grooms, and couples may decide exactly how they want to honor the moment when everyone is watching them walk down the aisle.

So yes, the bride's entrance down the aisle is one of the most cherished parts of any wedding day. The marriage adventure begins as guests—and frequently even the soon-to-be spouse—see the wedding dress for the first time.

Fathers traditionally accompany their daughters down the aisle. She is then offered to her lover for marriage after they have reached the altar.

But the OP of today's story has never met her father, and she has always wanted her uncle to be the one to walk her down the aisle. The OP is getting married to her boyfriend of 6 years, and they're having quite a large wedding.

The OP has a stepfather whom she has always hated. He says horrible things to people, says racist, sexist, and transphobic things for attention, and heavily contributed to the OP's mental illness and eating disorder as a teenager.

When her mom found out that the OP chose her uncle to be the one to walk her during her wedding, she was livid, saying that her stepdad was heartbroken.

So now, the OP is asking...

There are so many different ways a bride or a couple can go up the aisle nowadays since wedding rituals are less affected by convention and have a lot more creative freedom than they did in the past. The OP has decided who she wants to walk down the aisle, and her mom ought to respect her decision cos it's her wedding day, after all.
