Fathers traditionally accompany their daughters down the aisle. She is then offered to her lover for marriage after they have reached the altar. 

But the OP of today's story has never met her father, and she has always wanted her uncle to be the one to walk her down the aisle. The OP is getting married to her boyfriend of 6 years, and they're having quite a large wedding.

The OP has a stepfather whom she has always hated. He says horrible things to people, says racist, sexist, and transphobic things for attention, and heavily contributed to the OP's mental illness and eating disorder as a teenager.

When her mom found out that the OP chose her uncle to be the one to walk her during her wedding, she was livid, saying that her stepdad was heartbroken.
