A TikTok user recently posted a video that has sparked an interesting debate. In the video, TikToker @ikieralee19 claims that her daughter's father hid an Apple AirTag on their child's jacket.

The original poster explained, "I received a notification that an AirTag was nearby." So, the young mother began searching for the mystery tracking device.

"Do you know where I found it?" she asked. Then the TikToker can be seen removing the AirTag from her daughter's pink jacket, leaving viewers to wonder how on earth it got there.

"My daughter's father and I have a split custody agreement," the OP explained. "He has her on the weekends, and apparently, he decided to put an AirTag on her jacket."

So, why would the OP's baby-daddy feel the need to put a tracking device on their child? "Is this normal behavior?" the TikToker asked.

"Is this something a normal person would do?" she continued. She then questioned whether or not it was even legal for her ex to do that.

According to Apple, using an AirTag to track someone without their consent is considered a crime and can be reported. Authorities can request information from Apple to assist with any subsequent investigations.

Of course, there were many differing opinions left in the comments. Some people suggested the OP should have some fun and put the AirTag in some obscure places to mess with her ex.

Others were concerned that the TikToker's ex might be trying to gather evidence to gain full custody of their little girl. The OP explained that she had been separated from her daughter's father for two years now.

In another video, the TikToker updated her audience after she confronted her ex about the situation.

"He said that he was collecting addresses that I take my daughter to," she says in the video.

Whatever the motive may be, it does seem a little suspicious that he would hide the device. Why not mention it to his daughter's mother if his intentions are innocent?
