Yes, it's never easy to say goodbye to a close friend, and then there are the days that come after, as the house is now quieter and no one answers when we call out for them.

It's possible that when we consider adding a new furry member to the family, we feel it’s odd or even inappropriate. They can't be replaced, but we still need to move on, so perhaps the closure that remembering offers is what we need.

Although there are numerous rituals used by humans to express their grief upon the death of a loved one, there are no set customs for mourning the loss of a pet. Some pet owners conduct burials, cremations, or funerals.

Others send money to their preferred animal charity or display framed pictures of themselves. However, some people go above and above in their search for a canine memorial tribute.

Every connection is different, and each memorial should be tailored to best reflect the life and times of our canine buddy. There are a number of ways to get ideas for your own unique blend, and the OP attempted to memorialize and celebrate her SO's dog's life, but then it didn’t pan out well.
