For most couples, their wedding day is one of the single happiest days of their entire lives and certainly their relationship. While some couples like to elope and keep things simple, other couples are more likely to invest a lot of time and money into getting every detail just right, in hopes that their special day will be a vision of perfection. Some of the most important details include the flowers, the wedding dress, and then, of course, there's the wedding cake! The wedding cake is something every guest will see (and taste) and lots of couples have a clear idea of just what they want. Wedding cakes are often decorated to go with the theme and colors of the wedding, adorned with flowers or pearls and elegant decorations made of frosting and fondant. 

Well... not for everyone, anyway. For some couples, the wedding cake is the opportunity to let their sense of self-expression and creativity be exposed! And for those people, we are all going to sit around and wonder, "what the heck were you thinking?"

Bridezilla? Bridezilla.

Apparently, Chidi Ogbuta of Allen, Texas always dreamed of having her likeness made into a doll but when that didn't happen she settled for a wedding cake in her bride-ness instead. According to CNN, it took a week to complete and it fulfilled her dreams.

The Future is NOW.

According to a survey of married couples in 2017 by The Knot, online dating became the most common way for newlyweds to meet one another. We can only wonder if like this unique couple, many of them will let that inspiration lead them to lap-top shaped wedding cakes that tell their whole love story.

Wearable Wedding Cakes

I mean, why not get two birds with one stone and knock out your dream wedding dress and you dream wedding cake in one fell swoop? My suggestion: don't do this, because it's like at the top of most "ugliest wedding dresses ever" lists.

Berliosca Cake Boutique found that this custom "Chinese take-out" themed wedding cake was a huge hit. As long as you don't mind feeling hungry an hour later.

Some people need all of the attention. Like the sort of people who take H.I. Giger fanart a little too far and use it to inspire their wedding cake. One can only wonder how this couple dressed.

Gone Fishin'

You know what is too common for my comfort? People putting actual fish tanks in the middle of or under and apart of their wedding cakes. Aquatic themes are cool! They can be really beautiful, but fish tanks featuring live fish is so extra.

I Heart You

Can you imagine the confusion when a couple asked for a heart-shaped wedding cake and got an anatomically correct heart instead of the more commonly known Valentine's heart? We don't know if that's what happened here but it would be a lot funnier to think about than this being serious. Even if you were a heart surgeon or getting married on Halloween, this is unusual.

Thanks to the combined effort of cake-makers "Meals for Reals" and DJ Entertainment company "Posh Entertainment," one lucky couple had this incredible animated Donkey Kong wedding cake. Well, I'm not sure lucky is the right word but as far as bizarre, nerdy wedding cakes go this one is probably the best ever.

Surprisingly, for those nature-obsessed, gun-loving, camouflage wearing couples, hunting-themed, deer-head topped wedding cakes are kind of popular. Most people would find this macabre and bizarre, though.

What happens when a horror buff and a cake maker get married? This... apparently. David and Natalie Sideserf celebrated their big "I do" day with a horror-themed wedding cake featuring realistic, lifeless heads. Their heads, to be specific. Truly, they must be a match made in... Hell? Heaven? I'm not sure, but they are definitely meant to be.

Adam and Rea were all about geeky themes for their whole wedding but was definitely their Jabba the Hut shaped chocolate wedding cake that really helped them stand out on their special day.

You can't make this stuff up, folks. This cake is unique, to say the least, and it surely went with a couple that was just as unique. Perhaps a pair of mathematical geniuses? Or just geometry nerds? Who knows!

Oreo, Oreo, Oreo!

Oreos are a timeless classic, just like their love? I don't know. I'm sure a wedding cake made entirely from Oreo cookies is super budget friendly but is it really necessary to put the figurines on top?
