A man who recently won a lottery reveals on Reddit how he was going to use the money. And that he has no plans of sharing that winning amount with his family members.

This 24-year-old man claims to have won a massive amount of 4 million pounds which is 5.6 Million in US Dollars. He says that he wishes to clear off all his old debts instead of giving any of the money to his family members.

To give you a little background about his story, he explained that he and his wife are the same age, i.e., 24 years old, and the duo buys lottery ticks almost every month. They do it just for fun and have tried their luck a lot of times but never succeeded until this one time.

Finally, the luck decided to favor them.

And this time, they won a tremendous amount of money, which was in millions even after the lump sum deduction and taxes. 5.6 Million dollars was the significant amount credited right into this lucky man’s bank account without having to do much hard work and just by pure luck.

They decided to pay and clear all their debts and loans like the student loan, car loan, and house mortgage. And even after that, they had about 5 million dollars left for their enjoyment.

Just to let you know, about 70% of lottery winners end up begging on the streets in a few years because they don’t know how to utilize that money. But this man didn’t want to be in 70% of the people.

Smart use of the winning amount.

He is from the financial sector and decided to invest more than half of his money in various mutual funds, REITs, and even stock funds. All this to secure himself solid returns with a highly low-risk approach.

He even brightened an expensive apartment with the 2 million left after investing about 3 million into the funds. The couple finally decided to tell their family and thought they would be delighted to take such a wise decision with the winning finances.

Decided not to share the money with anyone.

But instead, they started talking about a big family trip and how this man would pay off all their debts and many more things. On hearing this, the Reddit user broke it to the family that he would not spend any of his lottery money for the family members’ personal uses.

He explained to his family members that though 5 million is a considerable amount of money, it is not enough that he can lavishly spend it all on everyone. This upset the family, and they told him that his parents no more welcomed him in their house and that he should never talk to them again.

He felt a little guilt and jumped over to Reddit to ask people if he was the A-hole for refusing to give his money to his family and making a secure future for himself and his wife. 

The people commented and showed him a lot of love and support that what he did was utterly alright and that he doesn’t deserve living with such horrible family members.
