Love is a universal force that transcends boundaries and can bring people together in unexpected ways. Indeed, age, ethnicity, and other factors are powerless against its influence.

In a tale of love that defied societal norms, our narrator (Original Poster) met and fell for a man 29 years her senior. After a 4-year blissful romance, they decided to tie the knot.

Their unconventional relationship faced countless challenges and criticism, especially from his adult children, who constantly berated her. They built a beautiful life together, raising three children, and eagerly anticipated the arrival of their fourth.

Sadly fate had other plans for this couple. When Covid struck, OP’s husband, who was a dedicated doctor serving on the frontlines, succumbed to the virus.

This news shattered OP’s world; however, she gathered her strength and began making preparations for the funeral. Little did she know that more challenges awaited her from her late husband's family.

After the funeral arrangements were concluded, OP got a call from her late husband’s adult daughter demanding that she refrain from attending the funeral.

The reason? They couldn't bear the awkwardness of explaining to their own kids how their "grandma" was younger than them. OP refused, feeling she owed it to her late husband to be present at his farewell. 

This led to bitter confrontations, with hateful messages and accusations hurled her way. Her husband's older children even threatened to physically stop her from attending the funeral.

Interestingly, another issue arose over his assets. The law dictated that 50% of the assets would go to the surviving spouse while the rest would be divided among the children.

OP's late husband's children further demanded that she give up her share. But rather than succumb to their bullying, she decided to not only attend the funeral but also take the full percentage that she and her kids are entitled to.
