Walmart remains one of the top spots for people in America, and the journey to becoming this began as far back as 1962.
Sam Walton founded the retail corporation that operates a chain of hypermarkets. Today, the chain has 10,586 stores and clubs in 24 countries. These stores and clubs operate under 46 different names.
Walmart is so successful it’s the world's largest company by revenue. The May 2022 Fortune Global 500 list revealed the company makes about US$570 billion in annual revenue.
With over 2.2 million employees, Walmart is also the largest private employer in the world. The chain's success can be attributed to its low costs and variety of products.
However, its customer service hasn’t received such great reviews. Out of the 1007 companies that have a Customer service scoreboard, Walmart is ranked number 428.
In 2020, customer satisfaction for Walmart was lower than the national average for supermarkets in the United States. The company had an index score of 71, which was below the average supermarket rating of 76.
One TIkToker got to find out why the ratings are so low firsthand. In a viral video, a Walmart bag checker accused them of stealing, and you can bet that this didn’t go down well.

@rips_worldA TikToker identified as @rips_world had a terrible experience at Walmart when he was stopped on his way out of the store by a greeter.
The employee went straight into accusation mode and claimed the TikToker was trying to leave the store with goods he hadn’t paid for.
A conviction
@rips_worldDespite his complaints, the greeter continued to go through his bags, convinced he had stolen something.
Taking it up
@rips_worldAlthough the greeter did not find anything stolen in the TikToker’s bag, he still took his cart to customer service to investigate it.
Losing it
@rips_worldSoon, @rips_world got upset and demanded an apology. The greeter finally apologized, but it didn’t seem like it was something he wanted to do.

After nothing was found at customer service and he was cleared, @rips_world ensured the greeter put all of his stuff back in the shopping cart.
The video soon went viral, and you can imagine the comments didn’t favor the greeter.

It’s very embarrassing to be accused of stealing, and from the looks of things, OP didn’t do anything to make the greeter suspect he was a thief.
Luckily, the TikTok community is on his side, and that must have helped him feel a little better.
