The Internet is an excellent place to meet people, and if you are lucky enough, you can run into a really nice person. But because everyone has access to the Internet, it is a place where you can come across some complete idiots, weirdos and perverts. Texting with complete strangers has its risks.

Wired recently stated that “d..k pics are everywhere, and nobody knows what to do about them.” But Mariclare Michelle from Seattle, Washington, apparently knows how to deal with pervs. There’s always a good response to unsolicited messages and pictures.

OK, let’s see how Mariclare dealt with one of those creeps.

We’ve asked Mariclare Michelle how women are dealing with pictures like this. She said that “from the ages of like, 13-21, I would get them all the time, mostly out of the blue or unasked for. So I feel like it was really normalized or expected when talking with men. Sometimes in middle school or high school, girls would bond over the same gross dude sending stuff to a bunch of us.”

This is what happened to the “star” of our screenshots. “That, unfortunately, happened with this guy”, Michelle continued, “because I had four out of five women reach out to me with their own screenshots and/or stories of this same guy who sent me pics after I made my post.”

Actually, she wasn’t the only woman who had the same experience:

This woman from Seattle recommends to always keep your replies light-hearted and humorous when you have a chat to strangers. “Talk some sense into people. If they come on really strong and gross, my next move is to make them uncomfortable by any means. Take the power back in a sense.”

Mariclare thinks that as an alternative to sending their unsolicited pics, men should look for a true connection and permission. “It will almost always guarantee a 50/50 chance of a yes. And if there isn’t a yes, move on. We won’t have situations like this if they always guarantee the person is wanting what they’re sending.”

Nearly half of millennial women in the United Kingdom have received an unwanted penis picture at leas once. More precisely, YouGov published a survey revealing that 41 percent of women from age 18 to 36 had got one. but, only 22 percent of men admit to sending such picture. Even less—only 5 percent of millennial men—admitted that their d..k pic was unwanted.

Two reasons stand out why the numbers don’t add up. First, maybe millennial women receive penis pictures from men older than millennial age. Secondly, some men just won’t admit to it, especially if the pictures were uncalled for.
