30 Redditors Share Some Unsettling Facts That People Would Rather Not Know

We always have the choice to overlook the world's dark realities. But even if we do, the existence of such things cannot be denied.

Knowing such facts may even change our perceptions and allow us to understand ourselves and the world that surrounds us better. So let's feed our curiosity and discover the unknown.

To begin this journey, we're going to look at two Reddit threads by users Literal-Pile-of-Poo and Yoloextreme345. They encouraged fellow users on the Ask Reddit community to share the most unnerving facts they know.

The threads received an overwhelming number of responses. According to Literal-Pile-of-Poo, he was inspired to ask the question after watching TV.

At the same time, he is fond of reading random facts shared by the Ask Reddit community. He wanted to consume some more facts, so he asked the community.

The comments by the other users made him realize how nature can be brutal. He noticed that a lot of facts shared were about animals doing the weirdest of things.

Literal-Pile-of-Poo added that people shouldn't go out there and find disturbing stuff to read if they're not keen on them. But if you want to see another perspective and look at how things work, the post is definitely for you.

We compiled 30 of the most interesting random facts from the two threads. Shall we check them out?

2. A family exempted from the Holocaust

A Jewish doctor treated Hitler’s Mother(The only person Adolf ever truly loved) while she was dying of cancer.

He promised his eternal gratitude to the doctor and even after becoming a pathological anti-Semite and later the Fuhrer, he was true to his word and was adamant the doctor and his family be placed under protection from the purge.

While some may think this an act of genuine kindness, I just think about all the lives lost because Hitler never stopped to think that all Jews were capable of good and not just the one who happened to have been good to him because of immediate proximity..

I was told by a very senior police officer (a parent of a kid I taught) that it is estimated that 30% of all missing persons reported to police who are never located have been murdered and more often than not they have been murdered by the person reporting them missing in the first place. The police know this, but lack evidence to proceed with prosecutions.

When it comes to disturbing things, our curiosity mostly gets the better of us.

There are a number of reasons why someone might be interested in looking at disturbing content online. Some people might be curious about what types of things are out there, while others might be looking for a thrill or a sense of shock.

Additionally, some people might find that disturbing content helps them cope with difficult emotions or situations. For example, someone who has experienced a traumatic event might turn to disturbing content as a way of coping with the memories and emotions associated with that event.

Regardless of the reasons someone might have for looking at disturbing content, it's important to remember that viewing such material can be harmful. Follow the original poster's advice and only look at them to gain a different perspective.
