Creative Artist Dedicates The Coolest Series Of Illustrations To Disney Characters As University Students And Teachers

The artist includes the most interesting "fanfic" style stories to pair with the diverse set of characters.

Spanish artist Rubén is known on social media under his illusrtator moniker of "Hyung86." For over a decade Rubén has been creating art, much of which falls into the category of fan art, and every year his creativity and skill has grown exponentially.

In February of 2013 he began a project that would span years, literally years, feauting more and more creative expression as each piece of the now seemingly astronimcal project came along. It was dubbed Disney University.

Rubén said on DeviantArt: "I'll try to make Disney/Pixar characters in young and stylish concepts, some kind of "students", something like the new Pixar's Movie: Monster University."

Now, nearly 100 Disney and Pixar characters have been re-created by Rubén. Originally his characters started with simple descriptions but by the end of his project, he'd created elaborate and interesting stories to coincide with his vivid re-imagining of the characters.

To further dive into this universe he shaped, he even expanded on concept characters like creating Hans' older brothers from Frozen. Not only that but he included many unconventional characters that often don't get included in fan art.

There have been many series and collection over time where Disney fans created phenomenal fan art, but you've surely never seen anything nearly as expansive and fascinating as Rubén's Disney University. 1. John Rolfe - Pocahontas

"John Rolfe entered the university after traveling from England. He loves sports (cricket, equestrian and football are his favorites) and studies History.

Rolfe is polite, elegant and a little bit shy. Took a long time to make friends and it was thanks to Pocahontas that he meet those who are now his best friends.

He has adopted a dog named Percy who is always doing nonsense and has his own channel on Youtube #EverybodyLovesGrumpyPug"

2. Nakoma and Thomas - Pocahontas

"Nakoma is studying ancient languages ​​at the university and share some subjects with Thomas (student of English philology) where they met and fell in love (<3)

Both are fans of the TV series and Adventure movies. They love hanging out with Pocahontas and John Smith Kocoum ^^

Thomas is shy and a little bit clumsy but Nakoma is always there to help ^^ they are one of the most adorable couples in the campus ."

3. Moana

"Moana is brave, impetuous and is always full of energy.

She is studying theology and loves mythology, legends and fables,and series like The X-Files and Supernatural. Loves Gravity Falls and Over the Garden Wall (her favorite animation series.)

Her best-friend is Lilo and usually go together to photograph historic monuments and ancient sites."

4. Faline - Bambi

"Faline's studying environmental studies in college.

She's funny, brave and very mature for her age. Loves to walk in the forest, spring and hanging out with his friends.

She is in love with Bambi but has many doubts. Sealgair has appeared in her life and she doesn't understand her feelings. Who will choose?"

5. Erling and Sealgair - Bambi and "Frozen"

"Erling and Sealgair have finished his college career.

Erling works as a tattoo artist in the city and help in coaching college baseball team. Sealgair is graphic designer and computer engineer. He loves knowing things about deepweb to become a true hacker. (his favorite series is Mr Robot!)

Sealgair continually faces Bambi for the love of Faline. She still has not been decided"

6. Cruella De Vil - 101 Dalmations, Cruella

"Ms de Vil is the sarcastic professor of Textile Design.

She doesnt like animals or students, or children, or teachers ... almost doesnt like anything that breathes or makes noise. Loves fur especially if it is from endangered animals (Belle and Pocahontas often hit PETA stickers on the door of her office XD)

Cruella a fan of classic cinema (her favorite actress is Bette Davies) and books by Lauren Weisberger. She really hates to hear students humming that damn song ...

7. Eric & Christen (The Little Mermaid and another one of Hans' hypothetical brothers)

"Eric and Christer's turn. They are the most sportsmen princes. Both study marine biology in university. Love surfing, swimming and everything related to sports.

Christer and Eric are always fighting with his brothers and Goran and Sören, they love to compete against each other. Usually Eric and Ariel go with Christer and his couple, Alana.

I am excited about this small "series" of new Disney princes. I would like to keep the style of the factory of dreams and try to be as close to what they might think. Treat them well please ^^

P.S. I wanted to clarify one thing. For me, the film The Little Mermaid has always been located in Copenhagen (where Andersen set his story) so if Arendelle is in Norway (Scandinavia) the "southern isles" are the small islands of Denmark ^^

8. Charlotte La Bouff - The Princess and the Frog

"Lottie can be scandalous, exaggerated, over-acted and yes, crazy, but in her chest she has a giant heart. She is studying Dramatic Arts and her dream is to become a famous actress all over the world (the fastest way is to marry a prince XD)

Charlotte is always chasing the Princes of the southern islands"

9. Prince Charming - Cinderella

"Charming (his father call him Kit) is studying political science. Romantic and dreamy, Kit is always looking forward to spending time with Cinderella. 

He loves Game of Thrones (all are fans in this university XD), Supernatural and Highlanders TV Series. Often fencing with the Phoebus and Arthur, Charming usually competes in fencing contests."

10. Hades and Persephone (Hercules)

"Hades is the professor of Greek and Classical Culture at the University.

He is sarcastic, jealous and maniac. Hades is quite superstitious and believe in prophecies, tarot and all those things (Dr Facilier is one of his best friends ...) Loves movies of Ray Harryhausen and actor James Wood. He is married with Persephone (despite the refusal of his mother in law XD)

Persephone is friendly, sweet and charming. She is one of the teachers of botany and his favorite student is Cinderella. She loves classical music (especially Vivaldi) and country walks. Hades hates clarity so always has his office darkened, Persephone is the opposite, she loves the sun, flowers and dress in bright colors.

11. Scar - The Lion King

'Very intelligent, clever, pompous and arrogant, Scar is professor of political science with Shere Khan and Jafar. He is the father of Kovu and Simba's uncle. His favourites students are Shenzi, Banzai and Ed, they are nice but not the smarter ... (Scar often screams "I'm Surrounded by Idiots" in their classes ...)

He loves movies, English literature and classical music. His favorite composers are Ennio Morricone and Hans Zimmer and loves Jeremy Irons in all his films."

12. Lady and the Tramp

"Lady and Tramp are the most romantic couple on campus. They love movies, romantic dinners and Italian food. Lady is studying law and Tramp is in drama school.

Their favorite teachers are Roger and Anita. They work in the animal shelter helping Pocahontas and Kenai."

13. Triton's Daughters (The Little Mermaid)

"Attina, intelligent, astute and the older sister. Alana, stylish, glamorous and full of energy (always protect her sisters)

Adella always lovesick and funny. Aquata goofy and a little crazy (overactive ...)

Arista addicted to music and talkative (VERY.) Andrina gluttonous and scatterbrained.

Ariel's sisters are part of the synchronized swimming team and they love fashion, music and the sea (of course ...)"

14. Hiro and Tadashi (Big Hero 6)

"Hiro and Tadashi are studying Robotics and Autonomous Systems in college. Both love robotics, computers and video games.

They have over 6 years developing different types of robots to help humans and nature. Their previous projects, # Wall-E and #Eve were a great success.

Tadashi is now preparing his new robot for Healthcare Companion #Baymax while Hiro continues to refine his Microbots. Funny, neurotic and friendly, they are inseparable.

16. Nala - The Lion King

"Sweet, kind, loyal and brave, Nala is studying teaching. She loves sports (practice kickboxing and always wins Simba!) reading and going to movie theatre. Also loves Broadway musicals

Her favorite writer is JK Rowling and Shakespeare as her boyfriend, Simba."

17. Bolt

"Bolt is studying Dramatic Arts. Loves movies and TV shows like CSI, 24, Shield....

He is brave, kind, funny and a little bit impulsive. Usually works with Pocahontas and her friends at the animal shelter."

18. Shenzi, Banzai and Ed - The Lion King

"Shenzi, Banzai and Ed are the problematic trio college. They love to disturb their classmates (especially Simba and Nala XD)

They are studying political science with two of their favorite teachers, Jafar and Scar. Shenzi is the only female and leader of the Trio. She loves the underground culture and one of his favorite actresses is Whoopie Goldberg

Banzai usually thinks with his muscles first and his second head, he is cocky and impulsive. 

Ed is ... "weird." Manically depressive, funny and very crazy. Nobody understands how he approved subjects."

19. Merlin & Mim - The Sword in the Stone

"Merlin and Mim, teacher and secretary.

Despite she's sweet and delicate Mim is a real witch! Always criticizing Merlin's students! they call Mim 5M (Magnificent Marvelous Mad Madam Mim) Nobody knows how old she is and many say she's much older than it looks ()

Merlin is the Professor of Natural History and spends much of his time with his students on field trips to teach animal behavior in freedom. 

Merlin and Mim are always challenging each other in knowledge. They are like yin and yang"

20. Lilo

"Lilo is the official photographer of the university. She studies image, photography and sound and her dream is to ride a photo studio to promote her photos.

Always travel with his bag of "The King" and her little plush toy (she made it when she was just a child! Her story is ... "disturbing") Despite being quite rebellious sometimes, she gets along with her sister Nani and her boyfriend David.

She loves going party with Peter Pan and Kenai."

21. Stitch

"Stitch is an international student (from a very far away ...) who comes to study computing and robotics.

His first project in college was to create a robot named Baymax with his best friend Hiro. He loves surfing, music from Elvis, Star War movies and frogs. (XD) A little bit destructive, hot-tempered, childish, cute and brave (just like a small dog ...)"

"Merida is studying Anglo-Saxon history.

28. Sitka, Denahi and Hans (Brother Bear and Frozen)

"Hans is currently studying Political Science.

Despite his bad reputation he is considered a nice and kind person (Although you may not want to mention his older brothers... XD) Loves tv series likes Game of Thrones. Thanks to Sitka and Denahi he is making a change on his actitud and achieving not being bullied arounds the highschool corridors by Kristoff anymore!

29. Elsa & Anna (Frozen)

'Elsa and Anna were close during their childhood but after some little problems (eternal winter, boyfriends...etc) now their relationship is stronger than ever.

The two sisters are one of the most popular girls in the University. Elsa has left her past behind and finally she's studying what she want, Architecture. Elegant, powerful, reserved and very protective with her sister. She has started dating a guy a little bit ... cold... his last name is Frost!

Anna, unlike Elsa, is fearless, playful and optimistic. She is always looking for new adventures with her boyfriend, Kristoff. She has a obsession with romance and this has brought her many troubles, usually acts before she speaks, and can be rather impulsive. She want to be Preschool Teacher."

30. Rapunzel - Tangled

"Rapunzel loves everything. She is studying design and fashion and she is on several university clubs. Sewing, drawing, sculpture, crafts ... she also practice martial arts and archery with Shang and Merida. She can do it all!

Some of Rubén's fans didn't necessarily agree with the angles he took in their storytelling, but absolutely everyone loved the art and appreciated the creativity involved in his work. The Spanish artist has a lot to show the world and we absolutely are here for it.
