Can we agree on anything?

People are strange beings. We can't really agree on anything, can we?
Well, maybe we can agree on the fact that Amber Heard is a terrible actress. She is probably the only dropout from Joey Tribbiani's school of acting.
But even then, you will find a couple of poor souls, probably deaf or blind that might disagree with this popular opinion. But, popular opinion is not the same as universally accepted truth.
There will always be someone who will disagree, sometimes just out of spite or need to be different. Now, being different doesn't mean you are useful.
A twisted fork or a spoon with a hole is different, but not very useful, are they? An aggregate of individual ideas, attitudes, and beliefs about a given topic expressed by a considerable proportion of a community is known as public opinion.
On the other hand, universally accepted truth is something that we all agree on. One Redditor asked, "What is an opinion that is universally agreed upon?"
As expected, people couldn't really agree, because, for every good point, there was someone who posted counterarguments and listed people who would disagree. Take a look for yourself and tell us what you think:
Someone asked:

RedditSome people actually find it weirdly amusing
RedditYes, but the people who play it like it
RedditFacilitation experts believe that is people tend to disagree for one of three reasons in general, with the first reason being the most common:
- They haven't really listened and comprehended the other's alternative or arguments for supporting it.
- They've heard and comprehended, but they've had different experiences or have different values, so they favor one option over the other.
- The dispute is based on personality, previous interactions with one another, or other variables unrelated to the choices.
Yes - literally

RedditBut people do. All the time. We try to tame rivers, drill for oil, increase greenhouse gas emissions...
RedditWould a kid be interested in leaning all that?
RedditLandlords would disagree:
RedditThe truth is:
RedditSome folks are simply opinionated and have many strong viewpoints. A vigorous debate, on the other hand, is not the same as an argument.
But these people believe in what they are saying and are willing to debate over it and sometimes even agree with some of the arguments they are confronted with. On the other hand, a contrarian is someone who holds an opposite viewpoint, usually to be difficult, confrontational, or in opposition to popular opinion.
And they do it for fun and some weird sense of pleasure. Being the only one disagreeing gives them a sense of importance.
It is important to be able to know them because arguing with them is a lost battle. You will only lose your nerves.
