Guy Has Routine Of Helping Neighbor's Kids Paint, But Their Dad Feels He Is Just Using Them To Get Close To His Wife

We're back here again with yet another Reddit post from the AITA thread that we love to look into. This thread often has so many great posts from people searching for advice on the internet.

Getting an unbiased opinion is exactly what you need, and we definitely think that the AITA thread is a great place to be. So, with this being said, today's post was submitted by a man who wants to know if he's in the wrong for telling his neighbor why he stopped hanging out with their kids.

Ultimately, he had a routine of helping their kids with painting every day after school until the father came to OP and told him to stop hanging around the kids. OP stopped, and then when the wife approached OP to ask why he hadn't been around, he told her the truth about what her husband said.

He caused an argument, and the father came back to say something, so OP is worried that he's in the wrong for what he did and if he shouldn't have even said anything.

OP gives us the beginning of the story which is their backstory on hiw this routine even started with the neighbors kids.

Then this is when everything changed, but OP was respectful and did as the dad said but of course the wife would notice.

OP ended up telling the wife the truth and this seemed to make things much worse for everyone though.

People definitely had a lot to say about this and they were on OP's side all the way while definitely telling them that the neighbor is in the wrong.

This is true too that they should have talked about it together before he approached him like that.

Honestly to me he just seems jealous and like he should maybe step up so he doesn't feel so threatened by this.

This comment raises concern about the possibility of her being in a somewhat abusive relationship, which isn't good at all.

It will probably end up being that the problems have nothing to do with OP and everything to do with the husband.

OP did nothing wrong and I think that we all agree on this so he shouldn't have to stop what he's doing, although he still might.

Sometimes things like this can end up as people like OP feeling like a threat and overall he should just keep himself safe in this situation.

We really feel like OP isn't in the wrong here and that the neighbor's husband dis probably just jealous of how close OP had become to his kids and the wife. Overall, he might want to consider stepping back a little bit to allow them to work out their issues, but we wouldn't say that OP is the sole cause of their problem.
