Denise Mercedes and Maria Castellanos from New York are best friends but also famous fashion influencers. Their Tik Tok challenge, "Style Not Size," made them even more popular. The short video of them wearing the same outfits took social media by storm. Now Denise, how is a size 14 model, has more than one million followers.

"She inspired me, and I gained confidence in myself, and it then became about inspiring others around us, too," said Maria, who is size 2. Their photos really prove that it's the style and not the size that matters the most. Wear whatever makes you feel beautiful.

Denise says that it all started back in early 2019 when “my friend Maria and I would pose for photos wearing the same bikini. It did so well, and people reacted so positively that we continued doing it here and there. Once TikTok had become popular, we decided to do a fun video, and that’s when it went viral,” the style influencer said.

They recognized it was time to think of a hashtag of some sort and start an actual body-positive movement. They let their Instagram followers vote between #ThroughThickAndThin and #StyleNotSize, and, obviously, the second option got the most votes.

Denise explained that their key idea is “to dress however you please and to love your body.” She added that it’s time “to stop comparing yourself to others. The fact that we can inspire so many women to feel confident and be themselves makes us want to continue this movement.” Two friends are thrilled about all the positivity they are getting.

Denise also shared her perfect autumn combination for curvy women – a leather jacket, high-rise mom jeans, boots, and a shirt. “That’s always my go-to,” she said.
