Vacations are a time to relax, unwind, and have some fun, but when it comes to deciding what to do on vacation, the options can feel endless. Whether you're traveling with a group of friends or with your family, it's important to plan and make sure that everyone's interests are taken into account.
Going on vacation should be a time for relaxation and fun, but for some people, it can turn into a nightmare due to motion sickness. Whether it's on a boat, plane, or car, the feeling of nausea, dizziness, and vomiting can put a damper on the entire trip, and it's important to know that motion sickness is not just limited to sea travel but can happen anywhere there is movement.
Such was the case for this Reddit user who posted about their recent vacation to a tropical island. They and their husband had agreed that each of them would pick an activity to do that would take them off the resort for a day so OP picked a hike while their husband picked a catamaran trip and dune buggy riding.
OP, however, suffered from motion sickness and knew that both of these activities would make them sick, and despite their warnings, the husband insisted on doing these activities. But OP knew their body and knew without a doubt that both of these activities would trigger their motion sickness, so they asked their husband to pick something else, but he was insistent on doing these activities.
OP tried to compromise by suggesting that they do the hike first and then figure out something else to do, but the husband was still not satisfied. They eventually had to put their foot down and say that they wouldn't do the activities, and this caused tension and stress between them.
The husband spent the rest of their vacation in a sullen mood, refusing to do anything with OP. After asking their husband what was up with him, he replied that he went out of his comfort zone to accompany OP on the hiking trip, but that they couldn't do the same for him.

u/KatFrogIt's important to remember that vacation is supposed to be a time to relax and have fun, not a time to cause stress and tension. You have to consider the well-being of your partner and be understanding and respectful of their limitations.
If one person is not comfortable with an activity, it's time to find a compromise that works for both parties.
