Artist Adds "Star Wars" Details On Tedious Thrift Store Paintings
Amazing

Dave of Arrowhead Vintage & Goods salvages second-hand landscapes and transform these abandoned paintings into incredible sci-fi spectacles.
He changes old and neglected artworks by inserting pop culture features into them. And he does this with such dedication and detail that the end product looks like the original was intended to look that way in the first place.
You can find Godzilla and Rick and Morty in his work - there is something for everyone. But he likes adding elements from “Star Wars” the most. We have compiled a list of some of his work, and we know you are going to enjoy them.

Arrowhead Vintage & Goods deals with everything from clothing and jewelry to home decor and vinyl. They sell their merchandise in their shop in Canton, Ohio. Well, they did.
“I have always done art for fun, just novelty weirdo stuff, but when covid hit, I had to close my vintage store,” Dave told the reporters. “My wife and I started doing our website full time trying to keep afloat. She made masks, and I started painting. Both really kept us busy, and we were really glad to have the work.”

Dave started off with an old landscape he had lying around; he thought it was nice, but it couldn’t be sold even for $5. “After a couple of years, I decided if I was going to throw it out, I could try and do something interesting with it. I think I added a fallen AT-ST, half in a lake, and Ewoks fishing off of it.”
Dave says he spends a lot of time examining and thinking about how to “match” the painting’s style before he starts painting.
Before the Covid19 pandemic, Dave used to get vintage landscapes at garage sales and thrift stores, but lately, people are bringing them to his doorstep.
They have more spare time, and they are using it to clean their houses, and they don’t know what to do with old paintings. “It’s great,” Dave said. “Usually, I only spend $5 or $10 each, not much.”

The artist adds other pop culture elements, too.
