Given that the word "modernist" itself conjures up ideas like "contemporary" or "current," as opposed to brutalism, which sounds like a metal band trying to come up with an adjective, modernist architecture has the strongest public relations teams. Modernism is not defined by being "new," despite being fairly recent.
Rather, it is a design philosophy that values experimentation and disdains convention. Despite its name, modernist architecture is not a young branch of modernism.
Its beginnings can be traced back to the 19th century, when the Great Exhibition of 1851 was held at the Crystal Palace. Architects and engineers were beginning to comprehend steel and glass, which were becoming more widely available.
As a result, there were more options for the heights and forms that a structure may take. Many of the hallmarks of earlier designs, such as ornate facades and conventional shapes, could still be seen in early modernism.
The "Modern Architecture" Facebook page posts photographs of glass and concrete buildings that resemble something out of Minecraft, which is exactly what you would expect, depending on your generation. Scroll through this collection and have fun while at it.

reverse.orientalismModernism's capacity to adapt to new circumstances has also drawn a lot of criticism. The production of a variety of buildings that many people could find difficult to grasp is made possible by the fact that many of the shapes and patterns appear alien at first glance.
Yes, they may recognize that it is a building, but they might not be as certain of its purpose or of its beginning and end.
