Australian Guy Has A Hilarious Response To A Great White Shark Circling His Boat
Australia has a well-earned reputation for wild encounters, and this one adds a shark, a boat, and a very casual reaction to the mix.
In the clip, an Australian man is out on the water when a great white shark starts circling nearby, and instead of panicking, he and his crew reach for the GoPro and keep filming. The moment is tense, but the response is unexpectedly funny, especially once the now-famous line, "Oi! Go away!" enters the picture.
It is the kind of story that makes you laugh first, then remember just how close the shark really was. Read on.
Fishermen Lee and Adam Ferguson recently went out on their boat from Coogee in Perth towards Carnac Island to go fishing. They ended up finding a bigger fish than they bargained for.
Lee told renowned couples therapist Esther Perel:
"‘Adam spotted something in the burley trail and said, ‘It’s a big fish,’ and I said, ‘That’s not a big fish; it’s a big shark.’"

Naturally, when confronted with such a massive predator, they decided to get out the GoPro!
As the shark approaches, you can hear them yelling, "Oi! Go away!"
The great white shark, estimated to be a similar size to their boat, spent 15 minutes circling their boat, all while biting it.

And if you think Lee and Adam had it bad, check out how a whale “shielded” a research diver from a shark attack in this encounter.
Lee had to put his hand in the water, with the GoPro attached, to capture the incredible footage.
