The infamous Met Gala 2022 is the subject of yet another story. Are we surprised? Definitely not! This was the occasion that truly demonstrated how uninterested people are in looking into a theme.

Anyways, It wasn't all a complete failure! Honestly, there were a few looks that made our jaws drop. One of such was, of course, the exquisite Blake Lively, who was dressed in a stunning shape-shifting gown.

While Blake's gown was dazzling, it was her husband Ryan Reynolds' endearing reaction to the gown's magical abilities that captured the internet. The way he stares and gushes over his wife can make even the coldest heart yearn for love.

There's nothing sweeter than your partner making you feel like the most beautiful person in the world. As her custom Atelier Versace transforming gown went from rose gold to teal, he stood transfixed.

The Met Gala is an annual ceremony held for the benefit of the Metropolitan Museum of Art's Costume Institute in New York City. The event, which is organized by Vogue, attracts a wide range of people, including celebrities, up-and-coming designers, and industry juggernauts.

The ceremony honors the theme of the Costume Institute exhibition for that year. To complement the exhibit's concept, guests are required to dress in haute couture, exclusive, custom-fitted, high-end fashion design.

For the 2022 edition, organizers decided to go with Gilded Glamour as the theme. This was an ode to 1870-1900s fashion and inspired by the Victorian era in Britain. We're talking puffy shoulders, and corsets, among others.

This year, a number of celebrities forgot to do their homework, but those that did absolutely wowed the audience.

There's no doubt that Blake Lively was the star of the ceremony. Not only did she stick to the theme, but she wore a very creative garment.

Her outfit was a body-hugging rose gold dress, with geometric embroidery and mirrored embellishments. It also featured what looked to be a huge rose-gold colored bow on the side. As it turned out, there were many layers trapped inside, just waiting to be released.

What makes this garment extra special is that it was inspired by the Statue of Liberty, a gift from France to the United States in 1886. Gilded Age-appropriate, of course!.

What's the reason for the color shift, you wonder? Well, it's a reference to the Statue of Liberty's oxidation, which turns the statue's copper tint into the famous green we know and love today.
