We're back again today with yet another post from the AITA thread that we love looking into, and this one is definitely worth sticking around for. This guy totally had it coming despite the fact that he had really good intentions here.

We're looking into a post today that was submitted by a guy on the AITA thread on Reddit, which is a thread that we love looking into a lot because of how entertaining they usually are. With this being said, we are looking at a post that was submitted by a guy who came to Reddit with a story about how his wife lost the ring that her grandmother inherited.

OP had good intentions, but his idea wasn't that great. He decided to replicate the ring, but of course, his wife found out because she knows her ring most and realized something was off. People had a lot to say in the comments, and they were pretty honest about what they thought about this situation.

We're getting the regular beginning of the Reddit post info spiel before getting into the bulk of the story here.

He describes the events of her losing her ring and just how upset she was over it before telling us what he did to "fix the problem."

He did his best to get it replicated but honestly we can imagine that his wife would realize since it's her ring and she probably knows it better than anyone else.

OP says that his wife never told him not to replicate the ring but honestly, that's probably because she didn't expect him to do something like that.

So he decided to get it replicated anyway even though she said not to and he probably knew she'd be upset if she found out.

He said that he didn't tell his wife at all about all of this and he did all of it in secret.

He also staged it to where it seemed like she just found it after all that time.

Of course, his wife noticed things were off and that something was wrong with the ring.

She was furious and we don't blame her one bit because we'd be mad he lied to us and set us up.

He said he's confused because clearly he thought that this would make her happy but he was wrong.

This is where we'd be upset to o because why pay that much for something that you know is irreplaceable?

Either OP really wasn't thinking clearly or he was just naive to the situation and what the ring meant to his wife.

People did say that he had good intentions which is what we think too.

The lying part is really what we are looking at because it's absolutely not okay that he lied about it and tried to deceive his wife.

Clearly, everyone thinks that OP is in the wrong here and he should have never done this.

We definitely understand where people are coming from in the comments because his plan obviously didn't work out the way he'd planned it to work in his head. We agree with pretty much everything people said in the comment, and it sucks because now OP is out $9k for something his wife doesn't approve of.
