It’s a well-established fact that cats pretty much rule the world. Even if you’re not a cat-lover yourself, there’s just no plausible deniability.

It’s not like one day we’ll wake up to cats having over-thrown the world, but we’re basically their giant servants as is already. Feeding them, grooming them, entertaining them, cleaning up their waste and any messes they may make.

One cat-lover took it upon themselves to start a hilarious collection of memes on Twitter, aptly named “Memes I Wish I Could Tag My Cat In.” This account was created and maintained by run by a Portland, Oregon-born artist named Pyrrhica, who currently lives in Perth, Australia.

The artist has shared that the inspiration to create this Twitter feed came from social media. She came across a tweet that said "I wish I could tag my cat in memes" and used that idea to create a Facebook page. "Eventually, I moved to Twitter and started an account here with the same name. The original person actually contacted me ... and said she loved that I turned her post into a real community."

Pyrrhica is currently fostering a kitty named Lucy "who is currently seeking a forever home near Perth, Australia if someone is in need of a cat." She has made her foster into a couple of memes and said that "she’s a big inspiration for the captions I write, as are my past experiences with family pets over the years."

Pyrrhica has unlocked the ideal blend of silly cat pictures and hilariously relatable captions, seeing as how her account gained more than 152k followers in less than a year. When asked about which posts get the most attention, she replied that her "followers love memes that make them say 'hey that’s my cat too!'" and the ones that make them "literally wish they could tag their cat in. My favorites are the silly cat photos that I make into memes about how a cat is anxiously awaiting wet food because my foster cat is also obsessed," she added. 

Collecting these pictures aren’t too difficult, she finds a lot online, but confirms that some of her followers share their own pictures, too. "I get a lot of submissions but it’s mostly just people sharing cute images of their cats," she shared. "It makes the page really fun to run because I get to see so many cats." Even though some submissions "miss the mark when it comes to being a meme, but they always make me smile."

Pyyrhica also shared that she uses some of the funniest cat memes she discovers and recreates them with paint, and uploads the finished paintings on her website. "I love cats so much that I made it into a job—I paint portraits of cats and this Twitter is the main way I reach people who love cat art."
