Some people just don’t like posing for photos and animals are not any different, just ask Kennedy Simmons. He couldn’t make his rescue dog Sparky pose for a picture even if his life depended on it. The dog has a very interesting way of getting out of taking a photo.
While others use methods like making faces, covering the lenses, or hiding their faces, Sparky simply- goes boneless. Whenever he sees a camera, he just turns into jelly. It is both adorable and freaky.
“When I take pictures with him, he’s got a certain tolerance, and once he’s over it, he just flops himself down — it’s almost like he’s throwing a tantrum,” Kennedy says. “He becomes limp, and every once in a while, he’ll side-eye me and give me the meanest look, like, ‘Are we done yet?’”
Kennedy SimmonsKennedy works as a veterinary assistant, and he is known for taking in dogs with special needs. So, when Sparky’s family gave him up because they couldn’t take care of him, he acted immediately and adopted the tiny Italian greyhound.
“They were a great family, but he had to get surgery, and they were so afraid to let him do anything after he broke his leg,” Simmons says. “They genuinely wanted him to have a good puppy-hood with someone who wouldn’t be afraid to let him do anything anymore.”
Even though the surgery meant he had to have one of his legs removed, Sparky didn’t let that fact slow him down.
“He’s been wild since day one,” Simmons says. “If you don’t have eyes on Sparky, he’s getting into something. If he’s out of your sight, he’s either snatching a piece of food from the table or grabbing a sock out of the hamper.”
Even though Sparky is a small dog, only 11 pounds, he is not afraid of larger dogs. “He’s friends with the little dogs, he’s friends with the giant dogs,” Simmons said. “He’s so obnoxious with other dogs — he bites their tails and ears. But every dog ends up loving him and is just so tolerant of him. He’s never been told ‘no’ by any dog.”
But Sparky doesn’t like to pose for photos…

Even though he doesn't like to show his love on camera, Sparky is the most affectionate dog.
"I've had several other dogs who were special needs, and he's just got something so special. He's just a little ray of sunshine when you get home," Simmons explained. "His name is so fitting — he's got a spark in his eye, and he brings so much joy to everyone because he's really not afraid of anything."
