The cancellation left many questions unanswered and fans feeling shortchanged. In response, a change.org petition emerged, quickly amassing over 100,000 signatures. 

The petition argues that 1899 was designed for multiple seasons, and the abrupt ending has left a gaping hole in its plot and the hearts of raving fans all around the globe. They demanded a proper conclusion to the cliffhangers and mysteries that the first season set up so brilliantly.

Co-creator Baran Bo Odar shared the disappointing news while expressing his deep regret: “With a heavy heart, we have to tell you that 1899 will not be renewed. “We would have loved to finish this incredible journey with a second and third season as we did with Dark. "But sometimes things don’t turn out the way you planned.”

His words resonated with the devoted audience, who are still hopeful for a second chance at uncovering the mysteries of 1899.

As of now, Netflix has no plans to resurrect 1899. But fans continue to hope that another platform might pick up where the journey left off. For now, the show remains a haunting reminder of what could have been—a perfect yet incomplete masterpiece that leaves us all craving more.
