The decision to have a child is a serious one, and in turn, so is the decision not to have one. Especially when the little one is already on its way.
Reddit user u/throwraunwantedpregn recently shared her experience with an unwanted pregnancy in the relationship_advice subreddit. The OP explained that she found out she was pregnant a few months ago, and immediately planned to have an abortion since she is only 21 and is troubled with mental health problems.
But when the OP told her mother about her situation, her mom made it clear that she would not support the OP if she went through with terminating the pregnancy. The Redditor's mom promised she would help her raise the child and support it financially if she decided to keep it.
Before long, OP's mother started telling people about the pregnancy against OP's wishes. This made the OP second guess her decision, so she canceled her appointment at the clinic.
But as soon as the OP did that, her mother began spreading the news of the pregnancy even more. Now the OP felt like she couldn't change her mind even if she wanted to.
Now that it's too late for an abortion, the OP is regretting not going through with it. She says she has even considered abandoning the baby and leaving it with her mother once it's born.
She says she is apprehensive about putting the baby up for adoption, so she feels she has no other choice. But, to make matters even more difficult, the OP is still financially dependent on her mother, so leaving would be almost impossible.
The Redditor says she can't bring herself to talk to her mother and let her know how much she resents her. Keep scrolling to see how people reacted.
