Italian Man Goes On A 450 Kilometer Long Walk To Cool Off After Fighting With His Wife

We all need to cool off from time to time, and taking a walk in the fresh air is always a good choice. An Italian man made the headlines recently for walking 280miles (450km) to cool off after a fight with his wife. No one would ever find out about this interesting adventure if the police hadn’t caught him for breaking the lockdown.

This 48-year-old man took a week-long stroll from Como, North Italy, to Fano, a town 280 miles down south, on the Adriatic coast. We can only imagine how angry he was.

When the police officers stopped a walker at 2 am for violating the country’s lockdown curfew regulations, they couldn’t believe he’d walked so far. But after checking his name in the database, they discovered that his wife had actually reported him as missing seven days earlier in their hometown. “I came here on foot, I didn’t use any transport,” he allegedly told the police officers.

According to the Italian media, the man was cold and tired but appeared to be entirely rational. Though, he confessed that he had no idea about the mileage he’d covered.

He told the media that he got food from strangers during his impressive stroll in which he covered around 40 miles a day (about 60 km). He told the policemen that he was “fine, just a little tired.”

Italy has imposed a movement restriction from 10 pm to 5 am to cope with the second wave of Covid-19, so the wife who came to get her spouse had to pay the €400 ($485) fine he was issued for violating the rules.
